In order to demonstrate the application of GENESIS to aerospace structures, a topology optimisation study was performed to determine the optimum rib layout for a wing rib intercostal.

The objective of the study was to determine the optimum rib layout for a shear panel intercostal configuration to support a flaptrack system.
